There is not a clear definition of sustainability because it will mean different things to different businesses and different industries. Sustainability started out as part of the going “green” environmentally friendly movement. The purpose for many was to establish efforts from a business standpoint that helps to preserve our planet’s natural resources. However, it has evolved into much more than that. Sustainability is a megatrend that has turned into a viable business strategy which takes into account business sustainability, economic considerations, governmental issues, as well as strong opinions from customers and stakeholders. Sustainability is not just for large businesses. A sustainability strategy properly planned and implemented will create a unique competitive advantage for any business.

  19. Strategies To Determine Target Dates

Strategies To Determine Target Dates Possibility Thinkers Typically Focus on Rewards and Plan Forward Start date        Target date

Presenter's Notes: Possibility thinkers tend to focus on the positive rewards of accomplishing their goals. It is not unusual for them to set themselves up with intermediate dates to check on progress in order to keep themselves on track. Possibility thinkers like to work through various options and approaches before deciding on a plan. They will use words and phrases such as: I want to, I wish to, Id like to, I willIf you are the kind of person who typically has reports or projects done way before the deadline, you are probably a possibility thinker.Necessity thinkers and behavers tend to focus on the consequences of not accomplishing their goals. Necessity thinkers typically do their best work when they are under the gun and facing a deadline. The phrase Necessity is the mother of invention could be their battle cry. They will use words and phrases such as: I gotta, I hafta, I mustIf you are the kind of person who typically has reports or projects completed just under the deadline, you are probably a necessity behaver. This doesnt make you a bad personit just tells you how you run your brain

  20. Energy Pool

    Energy Pool

Presenter's Notes: If these arrows represent the behavior your people, it is not unusual to find people working at cross purposes without them even realizing it. They are busy doing what they think needs to be done on a day-to-day basis.Let me give you an example...We had one client where we were working with the President and his 6 direct reports. With the exception of 1 person who had ONLY been a member of the top team for 3 years, everyone else had been there at least 7. Most had spent their entire working career at that organization. We asked them to take a piece of paper and list the top five goals in priority order as they understood them. When we compiled their responses, there were 27 distinct entries with the Presidents 1st and 2nd not listed higher than 4th by any of his subordinatesWhat a shock to them. How can your people help you get somewhere efficiently and effectively if they dont know where you are headed?
